Project Activities

Since it started its existence in November 1998, FHC has provided medical care to more than 23000 underprivileged patients , with the help of medical, para-medical and non-medical volunteers. Four to eight medical camps and vaccination campaigns per year are being held in urban slum areas of Delhi, focusing on prevention of infectious diseases like Typhoid, Hepatitis B and of uterus cancer, screening for hypertension and diabetes, and immunization. International representatives in Delhi  also contributed to the programs. FHE  conducts Sex Education classes for school students in different schools of South Delhi.
The project director of FHE is Dr. J J Kunnacherry , a consultant gynaecologist and obstetrician .She is an Indian citizen. She did her medical studies in Spain (University of Pamplona, Navarra), where she practiced until 1983. She lived in Nigeria from 1983 to 1997, where she co-founded in 1993 Niger Foundation Hospital in Enugu, being its Hospital Director and Chief Gynaecologist.  She came back to India in 1997 to start  Family Health Care, with the aim of reproducing the experiences in Europe and Africa. During these years Family Health Care conducted more than 40 medical camps and vaccination campaigns in different areas of Delhi. With the experience of these years she has also published three booklets in education and health care.

Every year we are planning to give vaccination for Hepatitis - B (three injections) and  Typhoid to 2000 children, along with medical check up for the children and their mothers.   Most of them have an income less than 1 Euro per day and cannot afford medical expenses.
